Deborah Retes

Deborah is the office administrator for GrahamHollis APC. She attended the University of San Diego paralegal program and received her certificate in 2005. Deborah also attended the University of Phoenix where she received her bachelor’s degree in business management. She has been a Certified Public Notary since 2006, and she is fluent in Spanish.

In her free time, Deborah enjoys gardening, walking her dogs and spending time with her family and two children.

Bonnie Potter

Bonnie obtained her paralegal certificate in 1995 and has worked with GrahamHollis APC for more than 20 years. Bonnie is typically the first point of contact for prospective clients and conducts the initial interview to obtain essential information and documents, and she performs conflict checks and background research necessary for evaluating potential claims. Once an attorney-client relationship is established, Bonnie assists in transitioning the client smoothly into the firm.

In Bonnie’s 20-plus years at GrahamHollis APC, 16 of those years included being the office administrator responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the firm. Bonnie has a unique ability in establishing interpersonal relationships with all members of the firm. Her direct experience and knowledge in processing time cards, payroll and benefits, as well as being instrumental in the creation and maintenance of the employee handbook, are invaluable when discussing wage and hour and employment issues with prospective clients.

Bonnie’s love of Excel made her an integral member of the litigation team in preparing for mediation and settlements. She is thoroughly involved in the life of each case, including her assistance with obtaining employment records, reviewing and organizing the records, drafting letters to the Labor & Workforce Development Agency for wage claims, drafting class action and PAGA complaints, and drafting and responding to discovery.

When not working at the office, Bonnie loves to read, craft, work in her garden and spend time with her family and three grandchildren, and she is a BIG Halloween fan.

Michael Simpson

Michael is the systems administrator at GrahamHollis APC and makes sure that all our computers and programs are humming along like a well-oiled engine. He handles all aspects of document management, from mail to copying and scanning to electronic data processing. Michael is also the firm’s facilities manager. He makes certain that we have a roof over our heads, functioning climate control, running water and all other comforts of a productive office environment. He has worked with GrahamHollis APC for over 17 years. During this time, Michael started his own janitorial company and earned his California Notary Public Commission in 2014.

Michael is a devoted family man and enjoys the many adventures his wife and kids bring to his life.

Magdalena Valdez

Magdalena Valdez is a paralegal for GrahamHollis APC. Magdalena was raised in San Diego, California. She is fluent in Spanish and has worked in the legal industry since 2006, primarily in the areas of personal injury, criminal defense and medical malpractice. In 2006, Magdalena earned an associate’s degree in paralegal studies from Southwestern College. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from University of Phoenix.

In her leisure time, Magdalena enjoys cooking, watching movies, reading and spending time with her husband and two adult children. She is also active in church.

Amy Bevan

Amy

Amy Bevan has been a paralegal since 2004, working in a wide array of specialty fields and in locations ranging from Washington, D.C., to San Francisco to here in San Diego.

Amy was born in San Diego but grew up mostly across the country in Virginia, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2003 from the College of William and Mary with a focus in government and computer science. She enjoys the work she does in plaintiff’s-side employment litigation, as she enjoys being able to help out the “little guy.”

During Amy’s free time, she enjoys watching the hummingbirds in her backyard, volunteering with the San Diego Clean Slate Clinic (helping people expunge their records), hiking with her pup, and traveling anywhere, but especially Mexico.

Joanna Garcia

Joanna Garcia

Joanna Garcia has been a Paralegal since 2017, working primarily in the area of civil litigation. Joanna grew up in the sister cities of Calexico, California and Mexicali, Mexico. In 2017, she obtained a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University and Paralegal Certificate from the University of San Diego paralegal program. Joanna is fluent in Spanish and she also holds a Master’s degree from National University.

In her free time, Joanna enjoys hiking, going to the beach, working out, spending time with loved ones, and traveling whenever possible.

Valerie Cordero

Valerie is a paralegal in the offices of GrahamHollis APC. Valerie was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and is fluent in Spanish. She has worked in the legal industry since 2015. Valerie has a Master’s Degree in Cultural Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from the University of Puerto Rico.

Valerie has worked on projects with children and the elderly at various non-profit foundations. Since moving to San Diego, Valerie has turned her attention to supporting and protecting the legal rights of workers.

In her spare time, Valerie enjoys landscape photography, cooking, and reading graphic novels, and is an avid Phase 10 Masters Edition player.

Andrea Gorrino

Andrea
Andrea is a paralegal in the offices of GrahamHollis APC. Andrea was born and raised in San Diego and is fluent in Spanish. In 2015, Andrea earned her BA in Anthropology, specializing in Education Studies from the University of Los Angeles. Prior to joining GrahamHollis, APC, Andrea worked as a paralegal in a stabilized law office in San Diego that practiced employment and consumer lawsuits throughout California.

In her spare time, Andrea enjoys time with her family and friends, reading, watching her favorite sports team, and attending live concerts with her sister.

Anna Bustos

Bio

Anna has worked in the legal industry since 2015. She has worked in immigration, family and employment law. She is currently in her last year of her paralegal certification program at Miramar College. Anna grew up both in San Diego and Tijuana Baja California, and is fluent in English and Spanish.
In her free time, Anna enjoys spending time with her family, two cats, dancing, cooking, and traveling to Mexico to discover and learn more about the beautiful small towns and her heritage.

Anna ha trabajado en la industria legal desde el 2015. Ha trabajado en inmigración, derecho familiar y laboral. Actualmente se encuentra en su último año de su programa de certificación de asistente legal en el Colegio de Miramar. Anna creció en San Diego y en Tijuana Baja California, y habla inglés y español con fluidez.

En su tiempo libre, Anna disfruta pasar tiempo con su familia, sus dos gatos, bailar, cocinar y viajar a México para descubrir y aprender más sobre los hermosos pueblos pequeños de su herencia.
